Welcome to our Blog

Updated: Jan 2, 2019

Welcome. We founded Secure Living Online in 2008 with the belief that everyone should have access to quality personal safety information and instruction. Back then we had a digital store, allowing people from around the world to purchase downloadable instructional videos on a variety of topics for people of all ages and abilities.

Now in 2019, we are excited to launch the re-design of Secure Living Online.

We believe that KNOWLEDGE IS THE KEY to improving your overall safety and well being in a constantly changing world. In fact, Secure Living was inspired by Grandmaster Crandall's series of Public Service Announcements and TV news segments in the 1980's called Secure Living, which featured 30 second safety tips for the community throughout the Central New York Region. These were later expanded into a now out-of-print book, the Best Handbook to Secure Living, which was updated and renamed in 2006 as "Be Safe Physically and Mentally (with the Crandall System)". All of these focused on the concept of SECURE LIVING, which we define as "a state of feeling comfortable, at home, in control of the world that surrounds you." This is encompasses a broad range of topics, ages, and abilities, but we believe the most powerful tool we possess is the mind, and through knowledge we can achieve this goal.

Over the past decade we have grown, offering seminars, staff training, and consultation. We have worked extensively with the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, offered programs for ROTC, ARC, BOCES, and other community oriented agencies. We have taught physical educators to implement child safety programs, and we have produced numerous books and DVDs, all in an effort to help you achieve your goals for SECURE LIVING.

Today we are excited to add this blog which will feature articles, tips and videos regarding health, awareness, and personal safety. It will also be where we post news about upcoming seminars.

We look forward to sharing our knowledge and experience with you.

What is your resolution for 2019? We hope it includes improves health, awareness, and personal safety. We hope we will be a part of your journey.
